The Chronic is American hip hop recording artist Dr. Dre 's debut studio album. It was recorded by his own record company, Death Row Records, on December 15, 1992, and distributed by Interscope Records and Priority Records. The recording sessions for the album took place in Los Angeles at Death Row Studios in June 1992 and in Hollywood at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
He included both indirect and overt attacks to Brutal and his owner, former N.W.A member Eazy-E. On The Chronic. It features several contributions by American rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, who used the album as a starting pad for his own solo career, although it is a solo album.
